Happy Black Friday Everyone!
Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for all of my faithful readers! If you are anything like me, you over ate! One of the things I love about yoga is that it feels so good to move your body after such a fulfilling day! 🙂 A couple of the best poses to do after over indulging is triangle (yesterdays pose of the day) and revolved triangle. It twists your core to release any toxins that you inhaled during the day. Revolved triangle is a balance challenge as well. It works our core muscles and those lovely hamstring muscles.
How many of you are performing all the poses for binge eating that I wrote about yesterday? In case you forgot they are downward dog, warrior II, reverse Warrior, extended side angle, and extended side angle bind. I know I have done them each once and will probably do them a couple more times. Lets do this together!
Todays pose: Parivrtta Trikonasana-Revolved Triangle Pose- Stand in Warrior II with the left leg in front at a 90 degree angle over the ankle. Straighten the left leg and come into triangle pose bringing the left hand to the left ankle. Now turn to face your left leg and bring your right hand to your left ankle and slowly raise the left arm into the air twisting the core to the left. You may need to come to the ball of the back foot if the twisting is not going well. Keep both legs straight but not locked. You will find that your balance will be challenged in this pose.
What this pose works: latissimus dorsi, gluteus medius, gluteus maximus, hamstrings, and quadriceps
